About
Us
Infinity Systems is led by a team built from the field up—engineers, technicians, and project leaders who have lived every phase of low-voltage delivery. Our leadership brings together owner advocacy, engineering rigor, and execution discipline to ensure technology systems are not only well designed, but constructible, coordinated, and operationally successful.
We believe owners deserve more than fragmented scopes, vague drawings, and last-minute fixes. They deserve clear documentation, accountable leadership, and systems that perform exactly as intended on day one—and for years to come. By unifying technical vision, real-world field experience, and disciplined project delivery, we eliminate gaps between design and construction and raise the standard for what low-voltage partners should provide.
At Infinity, leadership is hands-on, collaborative, and accountable. Every decision is made with the end user, the installer, and the long-term operation of the facility in mind. The result is technology that works, projects that stay on track, and outcomes owners can trust.

Elizabeth Hettmann

Managing Director

A Story of Grit, Curiosity, and Relentless Drive

Elizabeth Hettmann never set out to become a Managing Director or to lead some of the most complex low voltage projects in the country. Her story starts on the technical side—deep in the details—working as a MAC programmer for the Nortel SL100 at SBC Managed Services, supporting powerhouse clients like Arthur Andersen and Accenture. She quickly realized that understanding only one piece of the puzzle wasn’t enough for her. She wanted to know how everything worked, from the first drawing to the last device installed on a jobsite.

That curiosity became a passion. And that passion turned into a career built through hard, hands-on work.

Determined to learn the industry from the ground up, Elizabeth became an IBEW Local 701 Union apprentice, trading in a desk and computer for tool bags and construction boots. She worked side-by-side with field technicians, taking on every challenge—from pulling cable, to wiring GC job trailers in the freezing Chicago winter, to troubleshooting systems late at night so a space could open on time. Those years in the field gave her a perspective no classroom could offer:

Real experience, real pressure, and a real understanding of what it takes to get a project built the right way.

Her reputation for problem solving, leadership, and calm under pressure grew quickly. She advanced to Foreman Technician, running crews and managing complex installations. But she wasn’t done learning—she wanted to understand the other side of construction: contracts, budgets, schedules, and ownership expectations.

That next leap brought her into Project Management at one of the top electrical contractors in Chicago. Elizabeth thrived in the fast-paced environment, quickly being promoted to Division Manager, where she built the Low Voltage Division into a $15 million annual operation. She led some of the city’s most notable and challenging projects, combining technical expertise with an ability to bring people together—owners, architects, GCs, engineers, IT teams, and vendors.

But what truly set her apart was her belief that owners deserve an advocate—someone who understands both design and construction, who can protect their interests, anticipate problems before they occur, and ensure that low voltage systems aren’t treated as an afterthought.

That belief became the foundation of Infinity Systems / ISDS.

Today, Elizabeth’s role blends everything she’s learned over the last two decades: the technical grit of a field technician, the precision of a programmer, the foresight of a project manager, and the big-picture vision of a leader and Infinity’s BICSI RCDD who knows how to protect an owner’s investment.

Her mission is simple:

to create a seamless, coordinated low voltage experience for owners—from design to commissioning—so their projects open on time, on budget, and with every system performing exactly as intended.

Infinity Systems is proud to reflect Elizabeth’s values:

hard work, accountability, transparency, and treating every project as if it were our own.

Paul McCarvel

Director of Engineering

Paul McCarvel is Infinity's Director of Engineering, with over 25 years of experience in the audio-visual industry. His career spans the full lifecycle of AV systems—from hands-on installation to advanced system design and programming—giving him a practical, real-world engineering perspective that consistently elevates project outcomes.

Paul began his career as an AV installer, quickly earning a reputation for diagnosing and resolving complex system challenges. Within his first year, he advanced into a service technician role, supporting clients across audio, video, and communications platforms. His technical aptitude and leadership naturally led to directing installation teams, where he translated sales intent into fully realized, client-specific solutions.

As his career progressed into engineering leadership, Paul developed and implemented standardized processes and quality controls to ensure project requirements were clearly defined, documented, and executed. He continually refined his design and documentation skills while adapting to the industry's ongoing convergence of AV and IT systems. Recognizing Paul's strengths early on, Elizabeth worked closely with him to prepare for the expanded role he has since embraced—unifying technical vision, the team's field expertise, and client expectations into clear, constructible drawings.

Paul has a unique ability to systematize Infinity's diverse ideas, expertise, and perspectives—transforming them into coordinated design documents that far exceed industry standards. By translating collective vision into precise, build-ready drawings, he helps Infinity pioneer a higher benchmark for low-voltage design and set new expectations for what owners should demand from their technology partners.

Today, Paul engineers Infinity's AV, technology, and security systems with a strong emphasis on clarity, accuracy, and field execution. His documentation supports installers, electricians, and general contractors while also providing owners with a clear understanding of how their systems integrate and function within their facilities.

Paul holds a Power-Limited Technician License in Minnesota and maintains AVIXA CTS-I and CTS-D certifications. He is certified on Biamp Audia, Tesira, and Vocia platforms and has extensive experience programming AMX and Extron control systems. His design portfolio includes solutions built around leading manufacturers such as Christie Digital, Bose, Poly, Electro-Voice, Harman, Q-Sys, Meyer Sound, and Crestron.

Paul's guiding principle is continuous improvement. By combining deep field experience with the collective knowledge and vision of the Infinity leadership team, he ensures every design translates seamlessly from drawings into fully functioning, high-performance systems.
